CON-GRAD-ULATIONS! A safe ride to start a new journey

May 24, 2017
Transit System: Corporate

Corporate - BC Transit and its partner communities are pleased to offer the GradPASS: two days of free, unlimited transit travel during the month of June. It’s expected that more than 22,000 GradPASS cards will be given out this year.

GradPASS was first introduced in Vancouver in 1988 as part of the Counterattack Program and the Victoria Regional Transit System embraced it in 1990. Over the past 29 years, the number of participating communities has grown to 50, from Sooke to Revelstoke, from Abbotsford to Hazelton and Prince George.

“I would like to congratulate the class of 2017 on their accomplishment and wish them continued success as they start the next chapter of their lives,” said BC Transit President and Chief Executive Officer Manuel Achadinha. “Transit provides a safe transportation option, and I encourage graduates to take advantage of this free sustainable transportation opportunity.”

GradPASS is easy to use: students simply scratch off their two chosen travel days (they don’t have to be consecutive days) and show the card to their bus driver. GradPASS is not transferable and can only be used on participating local systems.
