Transit Future in Cowichan Valley

Cowichan Valley Regional District and the Regional District of Nanaimo

The need for transit service between the Cowichan Valley Regional District and Regional District of Nanaimo was identified in the Cowichan Valley Region Transit Future Plan (2012), Regional District of Nanaimo Transit Future Plan (2014), and the South Nanaimo Local Area Transit Plan (2019).

BC Transit and its regional partners are seeking feedback from the public regarding implementation of transit service between the Cowichan Valley and the Nanaimo region.

We’re looking for the public to provide input on:

  • The route start and final destination
  • Preferred trip times
  • Fares

To learn more about this project and to provide your feedback through our online survey, visit: engage.bctransit.com/cvrd-rdn through October 16, 2020.

Due to COVID-19, online engagement was deactivated and postponed after its original March 2020 launch date to give residents time to prioritize their immediate needs and adjust. Now, in order to continue to plan for future transit needs, online engagement resumes with the unchanged goal of improving connections throughout and between regions.
