Service Changes - Sept 2021

Rider's Guide

Effective September 5, 2021

BC Transit and its regional partners* are announcing a service change in the Kelowna Regional Transit System effective September 5, 2021.

This service change will provide increased service from current summer-level service in the Kelowna Regional Transit System. Service will be returning to pre-pandemic levels, similar to September 2019. This means:

  • Additional trips implemented on routes 1, 4, 6, 8 and 97
  • Routes servicing schools K-12 will be adjusted to meet demands

BC Transit and its regional partners work hard to match service with demand and continue to ensure reliable transportation services are available to our customers. The organization continues to encourage customers in the region to use NextRide and the Transit App for real-time bus tracking and updated routes and schedules.

BC Transit also reminds customers that Free Transit for Children 12 and Under launches on September 1, and more information on that program is available here.

* Regional partners include: City of Kelowna, City of West Kelowna, District of Lake Country, Westbank First Nation, District of Peachland and the Regional District of Central Okanagan.
