Rider Info

Welcome aboard! We look forward to connecting you and your communities. As you start planning your trip on transit, ask yourself:

  • Where do I want to go (addresses, landmarks)?
  • When do I want to travel? (day, time)

There are a number of ways to start your journey with BC Transit.

Website: Explore our website to view maps, schedules and route information. Try the Trip Planner to chart your course. Use our Alerts to determine which routes are fastest. Our website is the best source for the most up-to- date information on detours and delays due to road construction or bad weather.

Rider's Guide: This handy guide lists route schedules, maps and other important transit information. Available on board or contact your local BC Transit system.

Phone: Call your local BC Transit Information Line to get help with trip planning.

SMS Next Bus feature: The SMS system allows transit users in Victoria to text their Stop ID (located at each bus stop sign in the top right corner) and route number to ‘11111’ to receive information on the next four buses that are scheduled to arrive at that stop. The system complements the website features ‘next bus at this stop’ where you can find and enter your Stop ID online to receive the same information. Head to BCTransit.com and click on the location you’d like to leave from using the Stop ID provided.

BC Transit also has two phone-in options for Next Bus information. You can call the Transit Info Line at 250-382-6161 and add your Stop ID at the prompt, or you can talk to a Customer Service Agent from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays or holidays.
