Groundbreaking ceremony celebrates transit improvements for the Cowichan Valley

Cowichan Valley – Construction will soon be underway for the new Cowichan Valley Transit Maintenance and Operations Facility at 5271 Boal Road in Duncan. When complete, the 4.5 acre site will include parking for up to 50 buses with the ability to expand in the future. The site will also include three vehicle maintenance bays, administrative space and onsite bus washing and fueling facilities.

CAMPBELL RIVER – Construction will soon be underway for the new Campbell River Transit and Operations Facility at 1235 Evergreen Road.  When complete, the 5.7 acre site will include parking for 42 buses with the ability to expand in the future. The site will also include three vehicle maintenance bays, administrative space and onsite bus washing and fueling facilities.

Ride the battery electric bus in Victoria as of July 23

Victoria – As part of a six-month trial, BC Transit will start using a battery electric bus in regular service on July 23. During the first week of revenue service, the bus is expected to operate on routes 2 James Bay/South Oak Bay/Willows, 4 UVic/Downtown, 11 Tillicum Mall/UVic, and 27 Gordon Head/Downtown.
