Whistler Transit Tales Contest

Thank you for all the submissions we received for the fantastic Whistler Transit Tales contest! The winner of the 6-month Whistler bus pass is: Suzy Bates!

The winning Whistler Transit Tale

"When my daughter Annika was about two, we were riding the bus from the Village to Creekside. She loved the 'Wheels on the Bus' song, so we were singing that quietly. We were up front near the driver and the bus was mostly empty. The driver must have heard us, because when we got to "The horn on the bus goes....", the driver beeped his horn for "beep, beep, beep". Annika was thrilled—the bus driver made her day! Thank you Whistler Transit." - Suzy Bates

Runners up

“It was a warm summers night and I was on my way home from the village from a night out. The bus was quite full and I will never forget a young man started to sing "wonderwall" by oasis loudly on the bus. After about 30 seconds in, slowly everyone began to join in and before you know it even the bus driver was singing. The bus was filled with good vibes and happy smiles and was a perfect end to mine, and I imagine everyone else's night.”  – Tash B

“I was waiting for the bus in Creekside, one summer evening. I saw a bus and heard a strange noise in the distance. When it pulled up to me, the doors opened and I stepped inside. As I flashed my pass, there was a loud cheer, as though I was a rockstar stepping up on stage. The doors closed behind me, and as we pulled into the next stop in Nordic, the next passenger got rockstar treatment too, and so on, all the way into the village, with the cheering squad growing with each stop. I don't know how or why it started, but it was a great way to start my evening! We all had grins as we disembarked.”  – Mary Ann C
